Tony Dorsett grew up with a very athletic build and was often clocked at amazing speeds much faster than his peers. In high school he gained 1,034 yards rushing as a junior. He rushed for over 1940 yards which led the nation that year. When his college career ended, he had established an NCAA record with over 6,000 yards rushing.

His record with the Panthers was legendary. Dorsett is considered one of the greatest running backs in college football history. He is one of the few football players on the planet to win a collegiate NCAA Championship and then go on to win a Super Bowl in back to back years.

Dorsett was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the first round of the 1977 NFL Draft. He played with them through 1987. In eight regular seasons with Cowboys he ran for more than 1,000 yards.
